Terms of Use

Last updated

By accessing the3.food you agree to the terms described here. These terms apply to all content, features, and services offered on this site. If you do not agree, please do not use the guide.

1. Nature of the Guide

the3.food is an editorially independent, curated guide to exceptional dining, drinking, and food culture. It is not a booking platform, a reservation engine, or a marketplace. We do not sell access to placements, sponsored rankings, or premium listings of any kind.

The guide exists to make a single judgement, repeatedly and rigorously: which places in a given city are genuinely worth your time. Nothing more.

2. Editorial Opinion

All picks, scores, descriptions, and assessments published on the3.food represent editorial opinion synthesised from third-party expert sources — including established culinary guides, credentialed critics, and recognised foodie publications. They are not statements of objective fact.

We cite our sources transparently. Inclusion or exclusion of a venue reflects the weight of expert consensus available at the time of research, not commercial relationships or user volume.

Opinions expressed are those of the the3.food editorial process. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind.

3. No Warranty on Venue Status

Restaurants open and close. Chefs move. Menus change overnight. We make no warranty — express or implied — that any venue listed on the3.food is currently open, operating at the quality described, accepting reservations, or still under the same ownership as at the time of publication.

Always verify current trading status directly with the venue before making travel or dining plans based on our recommendations.

4. No Paid Placements

No venue has paid to appear in the3.food. No venue can purchase inclusion, a higher score, or a more prominent position. Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising relationships, affiliate fees, or commercial arrangements with restaurants, hotels, or tourism boards.

If this ever changes, we will say so clearly and prominently. It has not changed.

5. Intellectual Property

All written content, scoring methodologies, editorial frameworks, design systems, and software published on the3.food are the intellectual property of the3.food and its operators, unless otherwise attributed.

You may share individual picks or short excerpts for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided you clearly attribute the3.food and link to the original page. Systematic scraping, reproduction, or redistribution of the guide's content — in whole or in part — without prior written consent is prohibited.

Requests for licensing or republication: hello@the3.food.

the3.food links to third-party sources — culinary guides, critic reviews, reservation platforms, and mapping services — as part of its transparent sourcing methodology. These links are provided for your reference; we do not control the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sites and accept no liability for them.

A link is not an endorsement of a third party's overall product, policies, or commercial practices — only of the specific content cited.

7. AI-Generated Content

the3.food uses large language models to assist in structuring research, synthesising expert sources, and generating editorial prose. We are transparent about this. Every pick is traceable to cited third-party sources; no venue is included on the basis of AI confidence alone.

AI-assisted content is subject to the same editorial opinion disclaimer as all other content on this site. Language models can produce errors. If you believe a specific claim is factually incorrect or a venue has been misrepresented, please write to us.

We do not use AI to generate synthetic reviews or fabricate source citations.

8. Limitation of Liability

the3.food is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement.

In no event shall the3.food, its operators, contributors, or licensors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the guide, including but not limited to: travel costs incurred in reliance on a pick, loss of data, or dissatisfaction with a recommended venue.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such cases, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by local law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the guide evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the3.food after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

We will not make material changes without updating that date. If a change is significant, we will note it prominently on the site for a reasonable period.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from your use of the3.food shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, unless mandatory local consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
